About the Artist

Meagan Meli creates artwork for those who love spooky cemeteries and bask in Halloween's past. Meagan is an artist based in Cranford, NJ living with her husband and two cats in a cute, spooky abode on the edge of a forest. Her work is highly influenced by historic Halloween illustrations, 20th century Disney color palettes/ textures, symbolism found in cemeteries, and occult illustrations. After a series of devastating events, she began frequenting Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY as inspiration. Naturally, the theme of death, grieving, and mourning symbolism became consistent in her artwork. Though her themes could be considered dark, they are bright, silly, and playful at the same time.  Meagan's motive is not to bring melancholy, but to remind us that death is around us, but to accept it in it's forms. Her focus is to help those who are grieving, and need help working their way through it with fun illustrations.

Meagan was raised to be an artist by an artist, her mother. She grew up in a household where every day was a celebration, and Halloween was year round. With this as Meagan’s backbone, she grew up to continue to make spooky artwork. After graduating from FIT in 2015 with two degrees under her belt in Fine Arts and Illustration, Meagan immediately started selling her artwork online. She sold linocut art prints, patches, cards, and more! As the years went on, Meagan was able to create a fully functional home studio, now printing and distributing her own artwork.
